Who I Am

I'm Jordan Blanchard — an award-winning photographer based in DeRidder, Louisiana, and the woman behind The Matriarch Effect. I built this studio because I got tired of photography that made people look perfect instead of making people feel seen.

I have sat in hospital rooms. I have photographed women on the hardest days of their lives — the days they thought no one would want to document. I have watched someone see their own image for the first time and break open with recognition — like they were finally, finally meeting themselves.

That moment is why I do this. Not the pretty light. Not the perfect pose. That moment of recognition. Of someone seeing their own worth reflected back at them — maybe for the very first time.

My studio is private. All-female staff. No poses. No pressure. Just a safe room where your real story gets to breathe. Whether you're celebrating 1,000 days sober, documenting a medical journey, or just finally deciding you are enough — you belong here.

Bereavement. Sobriety milestones. Last moments with a parent. The first photos after a diagnosis. I will not look away from any of it. Neither should you.

I don't arrange people like furniture. I create a space where real moments happen — the messy ones, the loud ones, the quiet ones. Those are the ones worth keeping.

Private studio. All-female staff. No judgment. No pressure. This is a place where you get to take your armor off and just be exactly who you are. That's where the magic happens.
